How To Clean Glass Coffee Carafes

Thank goodness for replacement carafes! Have you priced reliable coffee pots lately? They can be very pricey. Unfortunately too, we crack a perfectly good coffee carafe and think we need to replace the whole coffee pot. Not so, there are coffee carafes for replacement from name brands like Krups carafes to a stainless steel coffee carafe that you would have a hard time (breaking.|shattering.decanter that seem impossible to clean? Here is a neat trick to cleaning the burned coffee in the bottom of your coffee decanter.
You will need ice cubes,iodized salt and some water. Make sure the decanter has cooled completely and that the coffee is indeed dried at the bottom. Now pour enough salt to cover the burnt coffee at the bottom of the pot Next, drop in four to six ice cubes on top of the salt in the carafe. Next, add enough water to barely cover the ice cubes in the coffee pot. Start swishing the ice around and around. You will soon see the burnt coffee disappear. You might have to dump it out and redo the steps again a couple of times depending on how severe the burned on coffee is.
Thoroughly wash the glass carafe once it has completed its duty from the salt and ice combo and now you are ready to start again with your super clean coffee pot.
