You should take pictures of your weight loss progress. You probably hate the idea of having a “before” photo. But you should take one anyway. Take photos at least once a week as you work on your weight loss program. A single before and single after photo aren’t enough. You should document the whole process with photos. The photos can do a lot to help with your inspiration and motivation levels. It’s easier to keep after a goal if you can literally see your progress toward it. The word “diet” should not be used in relation to your new eating habits. Instead, call it “making healthy choices” or something like that. The word “diet” has taken on a very negative feeling. When you refer to your new habits as “a diet” you are a lot more likely to resent them than if you call them what they are: “new healthy eating habits.” Instead of assigning it a negative word, use positive, action-based words to describe your new lifestyle choices. This will help you to feel more proactive about what you’re doing and you’ll have an easier time telling people who might have started to wonder why you’re suddenly eating differently.
