The Invention of the Nike Brand
Posted in Uncategorized on January 31st, 2010
This is how the origin of Nike goes: Bob Knight took a class with Frank Shalenberger while studying for his post grad business degree at Stanford in the early 60s. Constructing a startup business with a sales plan was the semester-long project. Knight included the growing opinion that high-quality/low cost shoes could be manufactured in Japan and shipped to the U.S. for selling with Bowerman’s attention to quality basketball shoes. Through this, he has discovered his market segment. Shallenberger thought that the idea was no business jackpot, but surely worthy of pursuing. At that point, nothing came out of the project. Finally, though, it blossomed to the development of all Nike Dunks online. Today you can order Dunks online from all over the globe.
